Every child is a story for itself therefore it needs to be approached in a different way than the other.
First dental appointment:
- It is advisable for a dentist and a parent to meet at the office before the child is brought in order to obtain written or verbal instructions about the child’s preparation for the first dental appointment.
- With a youngster, conversations about dentists and their procedures are advisable form the early age (not because we are so important but because the health of your child is).
- Parents and relatives should not talk in front of a youngster about their negative experiences and fears of some dental procedures. Parents should explain to their child where are they going and briefly describe the dental office.
- You should not in any case tell the child that nothing is going to happen, or that you won’t let the dentist do anything to him.
You can also make an appointment at Dr Jaser Badawi where nothing is done on a dental chair. The child here for the first time experiences new surrounding and meet’s the dentist who will work with him in the next appointed visit. In this visit the older companion is examined by the dentist so that a child understands that it’s not a big deal.
